This year the Florida SuperDraft has once again teamed up with PURE Sports to create a custom bat, however, this year it's for more than just a prize. Many of you who have played in the SuperDraft have ran across Art Pedersen at some point or another. Those of you that have been lucky enough to meet him have seen the massive heart and personality he has as well as his love for the game of softball. Art has been attending the SuperDraft yearly for as long as I can remember and has always been one of the people I know many look forward to seeing. Most of you know that Art has Parkinson's Disease. For those who may not know what Parkinson's Disease is it is an uncontrollable brain disorder that causes unintended or uncontrollable movements. This is also the disease that Michael J. Fox suffers from. So this year to help raise some awareness for the disease we have gotten together with PURE Sports and designed a custom bat in honor of Art. Profits from all of the bats that are purchased will be donated to the Michael J. Fox Foundation which is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's Disease. Should you choose to help the cause and purchase a bat they will be available for pickup on Friday night at the draft party or can be shipped after the event for anyone looking to help the cause that is not playing in the SuperDraft.
